It’s almost that time of year when the kids take a break from the books for a fun-filled winter week. Your family may be heading south to a sunny destination for March Break, or maybe you’re still hoping to get away! If you’re staying closer to home, there are tons of awesome activities to be found right in your own town. Here are some top tips for taking a well deserved break…without breaking the bank.

I agree with all of these but the last one. Adopting a pet shouldn't be considered "March Break Fun". Adopting a pet is like adopting a child. It's about teaching children long-term responsibility. Animal adoption, whether it's a goldfish or a dog, should be taken far more seriously than this. They're living things, not time off fun.

I agree with the previous poster. Not only is a pet a ton of responsibility for years to come, it is costly as well. Vet bills, food, etc. all add up very quickly. This should definitely not be included on this list.

The adopting things is a big NO unless you are otherwise committed to the long term. You could however visit the humane society and maybe volunteer to walk pets. You could bake dog or cat treats and deliver them to friends with pets or make outfits.
